El SETP de Neiva se prepara para una transición exitosa con el ejemplo de Barranquilla
Neiva's transportation companies and the SETP (Security Transportation Service) learned about the experience of Alianza Sodis, Transvial, and CooLitoral, which provide this service in Barranquilla.
To ensure the successful implementation of the Strategic Public Transportation System in Neiva, improve user experience, and evaluate technological advances that will allow for the consolidation of a cutting-edge transportation project in the municipality, representatives from the five transportation companies, along with the SETP team, conducted an exploratory and reconnaissance visit to Barranquilla.
In the capital of the Atlantic, 24 companies have organized into three operators to provide public transport services and have made significant progress in implementing fleet management and control systems, centralized collection, and technological assistance. This has contributed to greater efficiency and coordination in the city.
Juan Manuel Escobar, SETP Operations Leader, commented: "This is an important issue because it involves the synergy that must exist between operating companies, transporters, and vehicle owners. This is an issue we want to apply in Neiva."
Another key aspect that Neiva representatives observed during the technical meetings held with the Metropolitan Area of Barranquilla transit authority, the transportation union, the technology and collection assistant, and system users was the administrative and business organization structure.

In Neiva, the transition to the Strategic Public Transportation System will begin on November 1st. During this period, these platforms, which have been a challenge in many cities, will be gradually implemented.
SETP manager Faiber Sandoval Cumbe emphasized: "We were able to gather experiences for what will be the transformation in Neiva. During the transition phase, the fleet management and control system will be implemented in Neiva, as well as the user information system that will allow the entire Neiva community to know the actual travel time of buses, routes, travel times, and the centralized collection system."
