Starting this Monday, September 18, construction will begin on the East Patio Workshop of the SETP, located in the El Tesoro neighborhood. The project will have an investment of close to twelve billion pesos.

Near the land where the East Patio Workshop of the Strategic Public Transport System, SETP of Neiva, will be located, the socialization of the start of work was carried out with the residents of Commune 5. The work will begin on Monday, September 18.

The SETP manager, Faiber Sandoval Cumbe, highlighted the importance of this project by pointing out that, in addition to benefiting the community with public transportation service coverage, it will also include the continuation of the road profile of Carrera 36A, between streets 28 and 30, the entrance area to Patio Taller.

Let us remember that this project has been developed in two phases. The first consisted of carrying out technical studies and designs, overcoming some initial difficulties. Now the second phase is beginning, which will focus on the construction of the Patio Taller with an investment of close to twelve billion pesos. 

Greater service coverage

*This space will be essential for carrying out maintenance, care, cleaning and locating the buses when they are not in operation. It will also ensure service in this area of ​​the city.

“This city is relatively new, but well populated and did not have public transportation service. We had problems with some routes that had been assigned, but which were never fulfilled. Here people help each other to get out to the Avenue and be able to take the service, and today we are certain that we will not have this problem with the implementation of the SETP,” said Liliana Losada, president of the Community Action Board of El Tesoro.

Job creation

The resident engineer of the Patio Taller Consortium announced that the construction process will involve the local community, as resumes will be received to evaluate the possible incorporation of unskilled labor, officials or construction assistants.

The SETP work teams, the contractor and builder Consorcio Patio Taller SETP and the supervision Consorcio Intervial Neiva 2020, chaired the event.
